Ripper

Ripper

Designed by Dave Harrison in 1987, the Ripper has been a stalwart of the JB Lures range with a tournament winning reputation, especially in the stripey pattern. It's a favourite if JB Lures master lure maker Dave Venn, having won him many tournaments (including Most Sharks T/R twice, makos love the Ripper). Dave also had the misfortune of hooking and dropping the biggest Blue Marlin he's ever seen, well in excess of 450kg on the last day of the 2004 Shoalhaven Open, she came in to the spread to look at the Mega Chopper (18.5") on the short corner before deciding to eat the Ripper running on the long corner, nearly spooling the 37kg reel before jumping and throwing the hook!! As Dave says "it's the monsters you lose that keep you going back!!"

hotprice2Length: 255mm/10"
Tackle: 10 Kg - 37 Kg

Mega Ripper

Mega Ripper

Introduced to the range in 2002, the first time in the water behind Terry Harvey's Fraidknot off Greenwell Point, the Mega Ripper was eaten by a Blue Marlin in excess of 350kg and never seen again!! Most Mega Rippers are used as teasers for switch baiting, if you want to arm them with hooks, we suggest 60kg tackle as a minimum!!

hotprice2Length: 430mm/17"
Tackle: 37 Kg - 60 Kg
